Using a coupon

Enter the code Click Have a coupon? , type or paste the code (upper or lower case, it doesn't matter) and click Apply . A link with ?coupon=CODE fills it in for you.

Check the price The summary shows what you pay with it, for example 100% off the first 3 months (free), then $74.50 per month . Switching between monthly and yearly checks the code again.

Pay Continue to Stripe's page: the discount is already applied there, and on your invoices. You have 45 minutes to finish; after that the code is released and you can start again.

What a coupon covers

One use, ever. Each code can be redeemed once on the whole platform. While you are on Stripe's page it is held for you, so nobody else can use it at the same time.

What it's for. A coupon can be limited to projects, servers, Odoo installs or support plans, and to monthly or yearly billing. If it doesn't fit your purchase, the field says why, for example This coupon is for yearly billing only .

How long. The first payment only, a number of months or years, or every payment for as long as the plan runs. On a yearly plan, a discount of up to 12 months covers the first yearly payment, 2 years cover the first two, and so on. After that the normal price applies automatically.

100% off. A subscription still asks for a card, because billing continues after the free period (a 100% discount "forever" doesn't). A 100% Odoo install needs no payment at all: it starts right away.

Free trials. A coupon replaces the free trial of a hosting plan: the plan starts now, discounted. Remove the coupon to take the trial instead.

Already discounted. Partner prices can't be combined with a coupon. On a server with yearly Server Pro, the install discount applies first and the coupon comes off the rest.

If an install fails or you cancel it before it starts, it is refunded and the coupon becomes usable again.

Your discount is shown on Billing , next to the plan or server it was used for, and on the install's line.

For platform administrators

Platform → Coupons makes them: the percentage (1 to 100), what it applies to, monthly / yearly / any, how long (first payment, 1 to 36 months, 1 to 5 years, or forever), an optional last day, an optional customer (only their account can use it) and an internal note. The preview says it in plain words, the presets fill in common ones, and Generate several makes up to 200 unique codes at once (copy them, or download the CSV). The list shows who used each code, for what, when and how much it took off; unused codes can be disabled, enabled or deleted. Every change and every redemption is in the audit trail, and a redemption is also an owner alert. Adding checkout.session.expired to the Stripe webhook releases an abandoned code at once (otherwise it is released by itself shortly after the checkout expires).
