Starting with Odoo? Host it right from day one
Odoo can run your sales, stock, accounting and more in one system. The choices you make at the start, which edition, where it runs and who sets it up, decide how smoothly it grows with you. Here is what to know, in plain words.
- Odoo 14 to 20
- Community and Enterprise
- Our cloud or your own server
One system for the whole business
Odoo is open-source business software made by Odoo S.A.: a set of apps that share one database, so a sale updates the stock and the books without retyping anything.
Sales and CRM
Leads, quotations and orders in one place, with your customers' history next to each deal.
Inventory and purchase
Stock levels, transfers and supplier orders that follow your sales automatically.
Invoicing and accounting
Invoices, payments and reports, with Odoo's country localizations, the UAE's VAT included.
Website, POS and more
Point of sale, website and eCommerce, HR, projects and manufacturing: add apps as the business needs them.
Two editions, one platform
Both run on Cloud Buddy, on every version from 14 to 20, and you can start with one and move to the other later.
Odoo Community
Free and open source, with no licence to buy. The core apps, extended by thousands of community modules, many of them from the OCA.
Odoo Enterprise
More apps and features on top of Community, such as Studio, under a subscription you buy from Odoo S.A. The Enterprise apps are provided on Cloud Buddy.
Not sure yet?
Try your processes on a development or staging environment first. Switching from Community to Enterprise later is a project setting, and your data stays.
Hosted for you, or on your own server
Cloud Buddy runs Odoo either way, with the same backups, monitoring and dashboard.
On our cloud
Nothing to install or maintain: development, staging and production environments, from $72 per worker per month.
On your own server
Keep Odoo on a server you own. We install Odoo 17 to 20 on it, then monitor and back it up, with Server Pro at $5 per server per month.
Protected either way
Daily backups with a weekly restore test, alerts when something goes down, and your data downloadable whenever you want.
A calm start, in four steps
The order most successful Odoo projects follow.
List your processes
Which apps you need now and later, how many people will use Odoo, and the data you will bring in.
Choose edition and home
Community or Enterprise, and our cloud or your own server. We help you size it before you pay anything.
Implement and test
Configure Odoo and import your data on staging, a safe copy where emails are caught, and train your team there.
Go live, backed up
Point your domain at production. Backups, monitoring and upgrades are taken care of from the first day.

Questions from new Odoo users
What is Odoo?
Odoo is open-source business software from Odoo S.A., made of apps such as CRM, sales, inventory, accounting, point of sale and website that share one database. Companies install the apps they need and add more as they grow.
Should I start with Odoo Community or Enterprise?
Community is free and covers the core apps; Enterprise adds more apps and features under a subscription from Odoo S.A. Many small companies start with Community, and on Cloud Buddy switching to Enterprise later is a project setting that keeps your data.
Is the Odoo Enterprise licence included?
No. Odoo Community is free and needs no licence; for Enterprise, you subscribe with Odoo S.A. and enter your subscription code inside Odoo once production is live. The Enterprise apps themselves are provided by Cloud Buddy, and you never share your subscription code with us.
Do I need a partner to implement Odoo?
Not always, but a first implementation goes faster with someone who has done it before, especially for accounting and data migration. Knova Digital Solutions, which operates Cloud Buddy, implements Odoo; ask us and we'll tell you what your project needs.
What is a worker?
A worker is an Odoo process that serves one request at a time on production. More workers let more people use Odoo at once. Most small teams start with one or two and add more as usage grows.
How much does Cloud Buddy cost?
You pay per month for the capacity of production: $72 per worker, $0.25 per GB of storage and $18 per staging environment when billed monthly, or $57.60, $0.20 and $14.40 when billed yearly. Development builds, backups, monitoring, the shell, SSH and custom domains are included in every plan. Prices exclude taxes and Odoo Enterprise licences.
