Organizations: teams and shared billing

A company workspace: several people share projects, servers and billing, each with a role.

Everything you buy belongs to your personal workspace until you create an organization. An organization is a shared workspace for a company: its projects, servers and plans are managed by several people, and it pays with its own billing account and billing details (legal name, TRN, address) on the invoices.

Create one and switch

Create it Open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose Create organization . You can start from your own billing details: they are copied, your personal workspace keeps its own.

Invite your team On Organization , choose Invite people , an email and a role. The invitation is a link that works once and expires after 7 days, for an existing account (sign in and accept) or a new one (sign up from the link).

Switch The switcher shows Personal and every organization you belong to. Projects, My servers and Billing show the chosen workspace's items only; Cloud Buddy remembers your choice on this browser.

Roles

Owner Everything, including members, billing, moving personal items in and deleting the organization. There is always at least one owner.

Admin Members and invitations, every project and server (admin of each project), and billing.

Billing The Billing page only: plans, Server Pro, installs, invoices, payment methods and billing details. No project access.

Member Only the projects an owner or admin adds them to, with the project role they are given (admin, tester or developer).

Paying as the organization

A hosting plan, Server Pro or an Odoo install bought while the organization is the current workspace is paid by the organization's own Stripe customer, with its billing details on the tax invoice.

Manage billing opens the organization's billing portal (payment methods, invoices, cancellations).

Free trials and VAT work as for personal plans. A coupon issued to an email works in the organization's checkout when that email belongs to one of its owners or billing members.

Moving personal projects, servers or plans in

Owners can move one of their personal projects, servers or hosting plans into the organization from Organization → Move personal items in . It belongs to the organization at once. Stripe can't move a subscription to another customer, so its current subscription keeps being charged to your own payment method until it ends; renew it from the organization's workspace and the organization pays from then on.

Leaving and removing

Removing someone (or leaving) removes their access to the organization's projects. Their personal projects, servers and plans stay theirs.

The last owner can't leave or be demoted: make someone else an owner first, or delete the organization.

An organization can be deleted once nothing is billed and it has no projects or servers left.

Partners: an organization can be a partner's client like any account; the partner's access and the organization's members are independent.
